mono75 here. gotta say i really like this cookbook.
im not some fancy cook or anything and most cookbooks lose me halfway through but this one is actually easy to follow. the soups in here are awesome. ive already made a couple of them and they came out great, like real comfort food stuff. the chicken matza ball soup especially was really good. also the ham recipe…man that one surprised me. made it for a family dinner and everyone went back for seconds which never happens in my house. instructions are simple and make sense, not a bunch of complicated chef talk. you can tell the guy actually wants people to succeed cooking this stuff.
definitely glad i picked it up. gonna keep working through the soup section for sure. doing. yours actually explains things in a way that makes sense.
Hi Professor Dave,I just wanted to write and say thank you for The Tutormonster Cookbook. seriously…this book is fantastic. I’ve bought a lot of cookbooks over the years and most of them look nice but the recipes are confusing or assume you already know what you’re doing. yours actually explains things in a way that makes sense.
The first thing I made was the Chicken Francese and wow…that was incredible. my husband thought I ordered it from a restaurant 😂 the sauce came out perfect and your instructions made it way easier than I expected.
Then a few days later I tried the Cranberry Brisket and that one was amazing too. super tender and the flavor was great. my family basically inhaled it.
I DID try the bagels too…although I have to confess something slightly embarrassing. I forgot to boil them 🤦♀️ so yeah…they were just okay. totally my fault, not the recipe. after I went back and re-read it I realized what I missed. I’m definitely trying those again the right way.
Anyway I just wanted to say thank you. the way you explain things makes cooking feel a lot less intimidating and a lot more fun. really appreciate the work you put into this book.
